Shaped, Formed & Curved
UHPC Cladding Panels
Contour facade panels enable architects & designers to exploit three-dimensional, freeform & customizable cladding elements for facades. The three-dimensional ultra high performance glass fibre-reinforced concrete panels create facades with ambitious geometric forms. Comprised of a proprietary ultra high performance concrete formulation & mix structure, reinforced with glass fibres or carbon fibres, then laid up, layer by layer in custom three dimensional moulds. Each cementitious composite laminate is monolithic in appearance.
Contour panels are manufactured with unique production technologies that enables 3D cladding elements with finished concrete quality on all sides.
Contour panels are water, frost and UV resistant and can be used for solar protection, as custom façade cladding & as feature walls, both externally & internally.
Contour is available in 18 classic colours, each in two surfaces creating a vivid façade. Contour can also be produced in custom colours upon request.
We aim to build beautiful, progressive facades designed by you. We are the bridge that connects your ideas to reality.
Benefits of Concrete Panels for Rainscreens
The manufacturing process creates a material that is thinner, stronger, and more manageable for designing and installing rainscreens. Also, Contour concrete is noncombustible and is available in a wide range of colours and finishes.
The 1⁄2-inch thick UHPC concrete for flat rainscreen walls panels has been proven with over 30 years use in all parts of USA and Canada. The potential uses for this product are vast.
Designers have the option of different panel sizes and shapes. CONTOUR panels require very little, if any, maintenance, they will retain their look through the lifetime of the product.
The diversity and high performance of glassfibre reinforced concrete allows cost-saving construction of high quality, cutting-edge facade systems with long-term durability. It is authentic—in line with the current trend towards natural and sustainable materials.
Another innovative element of the extruded concrete process is that it can be folded when wet and thus made into different shapes. Most commonly, panels are molded into “U” or “L” shapes that can be used to animate a building’s exterior, but the material can also be put in molds to create curved components. Architects may use U-shaped extruded concrete panels as exterior fins attached to the curtain wall to improve the solar shade capabilities on tall buildings. This 3-D design option has put concrete panels in direct competition with the traditional aluminum fins.
Contour panels are an essential part of any facade project, looking to include durable, strong, stylish panels that make a bold statement.
Extruded concrete panels have a wide range of color and texture options, which in turn makes them versatile for project design. Iron oxide is usually used to attain the product colors. The natural pigments blend in well with the natural environment to help designers achieve a seamless look between the project and the local landscape. In addition to colors, the panel surfaces can be sandblasted and honed to create vivid textures
